Motorola Canopy Network Infrastructure

When the last mile (or local loop) was deregulated in 2003, the AccessKenya Group was among the first operators to receive a licence to build own infrastructure.  In 2003, we deployed our Motorola Canopy network across Nairobi. Subsequent rollouts of the product have taken place in Mombasa, Athi River, Thika, Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret, Nanyuki and Nyeri. With hundreds of connections points on the network, the Motorola Canopy network is the stronghold of AccessKenya's network connectivity since 2003. With simple configurations and highly reliable equipment, this network has stood the test of time and continues to be the network of choice for new rollouts across Kenya for AccessKenya.

Service level agreements offered on this network are the same as that offered on other networks run by the AccessKenya Group.

• AccessKenya's Motorola Canopy Network has stood the test of time, having been operational for 7 years.  Over the past 7 years,   Motorola have continued to develop the Canopy products to allow   more services and more flexibility on the network
• The Motorola Canopy Network is built to the highest international   standards including power backup, clean power provision as well   as redundant equipment.
• The Canopy Network is fully integrated into AccessKenya's other   networks, allowing transparent service delivery to customers across   all AccessKenya's infrastructure networks.
• AccessKenya works closely with Motorola and the Canopy network is one of the largest deployments of Canopy in Africa.
